A 16-year-old boy has been charged over the stabbing of two people on a bus in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police said the teen was accused of attempted murder, wounding and possession of an offensive weapon.

A man, 32, and a 17-year-old boy were taken to hospital after the attack on Colebrook Road, Sparkhill, on Wednesday afternoon.

The boy appeared at Birmingham magistrate's court on Friday and was remanded into youth custody to appear at the city's crown court on 3 January.

The two people injured in the attack were said by police to have suffered injuries which "are thankfully not life-threatening".

Officers have appealed for anyone with information about the stabbing to contact them.
