Motorcyclist dies from his injuries after van crash

A motorcyclist has died after a crash involving a van on the outskirts of Peterborough.

The man, a 20-year-old man from Yaxley, Cambridgeshire, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital but later died of his injuries.

His blue Yamaha bike was in a crash with a white Mercedes Sprinter at about 13:15 BST on Saturday on the approach to the roundabout near Eye Green Services.

The van driver, who was 21 and from Langham, near Oakham, Rutland, was not injured.

Sgt Mark Atkins, of Cambridgeshire Police, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life.

"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing to anyone who saw the collision to contact us."
