Two police officers charged with driving offences
Two West Yorkshire Police officers have been charged with a series of driving offences, the force has said.
PC Abdul Iqbal, based in Kirklees, is accused of drink-driving, perverting the course of justice and failing to provide driver details.
PC Aisha Iqbal, based in the Wakefield district, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Both have been suspended from duty.
The charges against PC Abdul Iqbal, 29, relate to an incident in Calder Grove, Wakefield, in May and he is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on 15 November.
The charge against PC Aisha Iqbal, 27, relate to two speeding offences and furnishing of driver information, the force said.
She is due to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court also on 15 November.
She is co-defendant with member of the public Zaffar Iqbal, 62, who is also charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
