Pedestrian killed in A38 collision

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on the A38 near Tewkesbury.

The collision occurred on a stretch of road close to the village of Deerhurst Walton at about 16.50 GMT on Tuesday, Gloucestershire Constabulary said.

The air ambulance was called but the victim, a man in his 60s, died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a Gloucestershire Police officer.

No one in the car - a Honda Civic - sustained injuries, the force said.

Police cordons that were in place overnight have now been lifted.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage is being asked to contact police.
