Police are appealing for witnesses after 18 koi carp were reported stolen from a garden pond.

The fish were taken from a property in Longlevens, Gloucester, on 26 November, Gloucestershire Police said.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area or who has seen or been offered koi carp for sale, to contact them.

Koi carp can live more than 30 years and grow to more than a metre in length in the right conditions. Prize specimens can sell for thousands of pounds.
