'Good progress' on works cancels road closures

Planned closures for the A63 Castle Street in Hull next week are no longer going ahead, National Highways said.
"Good progress" had been made on the central reserve works, so the planned closures for 24 – 28 March were no longer required, they said.
National Highways said further overnight closures will be in place on weeknights during April and May in both directions between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way.
They apologised for any disruption but said that some disturbance was unavoidable during this "complex phase" of the scheme.

Castle Street is undergoing a £355m redesign that involves lowering the level of the A63 to create an underpass.
Work had been due to be completed by April 2025, but highways bosses said they were now working towards a completion date of spring 2026.
A breakdown of the closures between 20:00 and 0600 BST during April and May in both directions between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way:
- Monday 31 March – Friday 4 April
- Monday 7 April – Friday 11 April (delayed westbound closure from 22:00 for Hull KR v Warriors fixture on Friday 11 April
- Monday 28 April – Friday 2 May
- Tuesday 6 – Friday 9 May
- Monday 12 – Friday 16 May
- Monday 19 – Friday 23 May
- Wednesday 28 – Friday 30 May - westbound closures only (delayed westbound closure from 22:00 for Hull KR v Saints fixture on 30 May)
A signed diversion will be in place via the A15, A164 and the A1079 and A1033 for eastbound traffic and vice versa for westbound traffic.
