The changes follow speed reductions introduced on five roads in Jersey in November

New speed limits have come into force on some roads in Jersey.

The reduced speed limits form part of the States of Jersey's Island Speed Limit Framework, aimed at improving road safety.

Five roads, or parts of roads, in St Mary and St Lawrence, have gone from 40mph to 30mph, while the limit in St Mary's Village including Le Clos de I'Arsenal has dropped from 40mph to 20mph.

Twelve roads have been given Green Lane status meaning speed limits have been reduced to 15mph.

The 40mph to 30mph changes are:

  • La Grande Rue
  • La Rue Rondin leading into Le Mont de Ste Marie
  • La Rue de la Frontière leading into Les Chanolles des Six Rues

Roads given Green Lane status:

  • La Chève Rue
  • The northern end of La Grande Rue by The Priory
  • La Rue à Georges
  • La Rue Bechervaise
  • La Rue du Douet
  • La Rue ès Boeufs
  • La Rue ès Viberts (in both St Mary and St Peter)
  • La Rue du Couvent (in both St Mary and St Lawrence)
  • Le Jardin du Couvent
  • Le Clos des Buis
  • Le Mont Remon (St Peter)
  • La Verte Rue (St Lawrence)
