Vandalism of baby graves is 'emotionally draining'
The trustee of a cemetery in Plymouth has said families are going through an "emotionally draining time" after a series of graves were vandalised.
Devon and Cornwall Police said Ford Park Cemetery was vandalised between 11 November and 12 November with several ornaments broken and flowers strewn about.
Many of the plots vandalised were for babies and young children, the trust which runs the cemetery said.
Trustee Warwick Lightfoot said they were looking at installing CCTV cameras in response.
Mr Lightfoot said: "We have a special section in the cemetery of baby graves where parents can grieve and those graves have been disturbed.
"No-one wants to see vandalism in the cemetery or things being pinched, but when it's baby graves - it really is emotionally very draining for the families, parents and the wider community.
"We're investigating the best way in getting an effective framework of cameras to focus on the particular sites we're looking at."
Police said inquiries were ongoing and anyone with information was asked to contact the force.
