Plans for 144 new houses scheduled to be built near Dorking are to go on display.

The building company Taylor Wimpey is seeking full planning permission for the development on land beside Westcott Road.

The firm said it now wanted to hear the views of local residents.

The plans will be on display at the Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel, between 14:00 and 19.30 BST on 22 July, and also online.

Outline planning permission for the homes was granted in November 2023, with Taylor Wimpey acquiring the land in June.

It is now preparing a reserved matters planning application, when full details of the scheme will go before the local planning authority.

The developer said half the properties will be affordable, with open spaces, ecological schemes, a play area, pedestrian access and a school drop-off point also included.

A spokesman for the firm said: “It is very important to us that we listen to the views of the local community and give them the opportunity to express their opinions before we submit our planning application in the autumn.

"We would encourage all of those who live locally and are interested in our proposals to attend the exhibition event or view our proposals online.”

The plans can be viewed online and feedback given here.
