A study centre for international students is to open at the University of Wolverhampton.

From September, it will offer undergraduate foundation programmes and pre-masters programmes, enabling students to progress on to undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the university said.

Students will engage in a "rigorous" academic curriculum, enhance their English language proficiency and develop essential skills to excel academically, the spokesperson added.

It will be run in partnership with Malvern International which has worked with international students since 1999.

Dr David Atkinson, associate dean of recruitment and partnerships at the university, said the centre was a positive step forward and would enhance the university's global reach.

"The study centre will be a centre of academic support [and] expertise allowing students to follow their career ambitions," he added.

Richard Mace, CEO at Malvern International, said it was an exciting milestone.

"We are proud to partner with the University of Wolverhampton, renowned for its innovative teaching and excellent graduate outcomes.

"Together, we are committed to creating transformative opportunities for students while enhancing the university's global reach and impact."
