Investigation begins after man dies in house fire
BBCA man has died following a fire at a house in Nottinghamshire.
Emergency services were called to Wigwam Grove, Hucknall, at about 01:00 GMT on Monday.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said a 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A fire investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the blaze.
The fire service said crews from Hucknall and Stockhill stations attended the scene following a call from a neighbour who could smell smoke coming from the property.
Richard Cooper, fire service group manager, said: “This really is a sad and tragic incident and I would like to send my sincere condolences to the gentleman’s family and friends.
“There will still be a fire service presence in the area today whilst we complete our outstanding investigations and firefighters will be in the area soon to offer support to local residents.”
