A boat and its crew were helped to safety by the RNLI after the boat was taking on water.

Fowey RNLI said it was called out just after 12:15 BST on Saturday to a sailing vessel 5 miles (8km) south of the town's harbour and a crew member was transferred.

The vessel's pumps were struggling to keep up with the water ingress and the source of the leak was identified in the vessel's fore hatch.

The RNLI said the boat - which had been heading to Falmouth - was escorted to Fowey by the RNLI's all-weather lifeboat, reaching the harbour at 15:05.
