County hit by second cinema closure in six months
A second cinema closure in a single county has been announced within the space of six months.
Cineworld said its site at Sixfields Leisure in Weedon Road, Northampton, will cease trading on 19 January.
Branches at Castleford in West Yorkshire, Leigh in Greater Manchester, Middlesbrough and Poole and Weymouth - both in Dorset - will also close.
The company said it was restructuring towards "securing the long-term future and profitability of its UK cinema operations".
Cineworld - which now has 90 cinemas left in its portfolio - said the landlords of the six branches chose to reclaim their properties.
The firm announced five other closures in July, which included Bedford.
Jamie Sotomayor, president of Cineworld International, said: "The successful completion of our restructuring plan, achieved with the crucial support of our landlords, protects thousands of jobs across the UK and provides us with the financial stability to continue investing in delivering extraordinary experiences for our valued customers."
In July, Odeon announced it would close its cinema in Kettering. That branch will shut its doors in February.
