A pedestrian has been hit by a driver in Warwickshire, leaving him with serious chest injuries.

The man in his 40s was still in hospital on Monday, following the crash on Coventry Road in Exhall at about 20:30 GMT on Friday.

A blue Hyundai car struck him and its driver called police and ambulance services.

Warwickshire Police said it was believed a red Uber vehicle stopped next to the pedestrian before the collision happened, and the force would like to speak to its driver as a potential witness.

It is also looking for anyone who saw or who has CCTV or dashcam footage of a male in dark clothing carrying a white plastic bag walking along Coventry Road towards Bedworth from Exhall.
