A man has been charged with murder over the death of a man whose body was found near a water tower.

Police said they were called to a disused building near Shelton Water Tower in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, shortly before midday on Friday.

Adam Rowson, 26, of no fixed abode, is due to appear at Telford Magistrates Court on Monday.

West Mercia Police said that although formal identification had not yet taken place, they believed the man who was found dead was 45-year-old Alexis De Naray from Shrewsbury.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A second man, 21, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on bail, police said.
