Twenty-four people have been arrested following violence between fans at a football match.

Pockets of disorder broke out during half-time at Birmingham City's League One home fixture against Shrewsbury Town on 29 March.

It started in the stadium concourse and continued outside the ground after the match, West Midlands Police said.

The force added 23 people had been released on bail pending further investigation and the other released with no further action, but said it still wished to identify four more people. Football related disorder would not be tolerated, Sgt Isobel Griffiths said.

"The number of arrests made shows we will take a strong approach to football fans who choose to behave in an aggressive and threatening manner," she added.
