Islanders are being encouraged to support a charity by having their Christmas trees recycled.

Jersey Hospice Care has offered to collect trees from businesses and family homes for a minimum donation of £15.

The charity will have the trees turned into mulch which can be used by farmers and gardeners.

Bookings can be made on the charity's website for collections from businesses on 8 and 9 January and from homes on 11 and 12 January.

Scott Douglas, Jersey Hospice Care events manager, said: "It's an amazing way of giving back to the island that supports us so well."
