Officers are continuing to investigate the murder of a man who was fatally shot inside a car in Birmingham a week ago.

Raad Asmael was pronounced dead at the scene on Rotton Park Road, at the junction of City Road in Edgbaston, at about 23:00 GMT on 22 November.

In a tribute issued by police, the 27-year-old was described by his family as a "beloved" husband, father, son and brother.

West Midlands Police is continuing to appeal for information about the shooting and said it was working to identify who was responsible.

"Our officers will be back carrying out house-to-house inquiries around the area tonight, trying to identify witnesses who can help with our investigation," a force spokesperson said on Friday.

A man in his 30s, who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the incident, was released without charge.

The force has appealed for anyone with dashcam footage or mobile phone footage from the area at the time to get in contact.
