Man dies after being hit by car on motorway

A man aged in his 20s has died after he is believed to have been hit by a car on the M25.

Police were called to the motorway near Brentwood shortly before 12:00 GMT on Thursday.

The stretch, which is on the London-Essex border, was closed anti-clockwise between junction 29 and junction 28 and did not reopen until about 21:50.

The Metropolitan Police asked anyone with information to come forward.
