Driver critical after three-vehicle crash

A driver who was involved in a three-vehicle crash has been been critically injured.

The collision happened on Chaddock Lane in Worsley at about 16:30 GMT.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said two fire engines attended the crash between a van and two cars.

Greater Manchester Police said the Manchester-bound carriageway of East Lancashire Road had been temporarily closed for investigations.

Officers advised people to avoid the area.
