The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched an investigation after a plane crash following which two people were taken to hospital.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue was called to Skegness Airfield on Wall's Lane, Ingoldmells shortly before 13:00 BST on Tuesday.

One person was taken by air ambulance to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham while another was taken by road, said East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS).

The BBC understands the single engine aircraft had landed before the incident took place.

EMAS confirmed two ambulance crews, a paramedic in a solo response car and a LIVES emergency first responder were sent to the incident.

Skegness Airfield remains closed until Saturday.
