Inspectors said routines were not well organised at Cute Companions nursery in Bradford

A nursery has been told the quality of its education needs to improve following an Ofsted inspection.

Routines at Cute Companions nursery in Idle, near Bradford, were "not well organised" and children had to wait too long at meal times, a report by the education body said.

But inspectors praised the nursery's settling-in procedures and said care practices were good.

Managing director Catherine Gordon said she was disappointed by the outcome but improvements had been made at the nursery since the inspection.

"While the inspection outcome was disappointing, we've already implemented actions in the areas identified for improvement and are seeing progress," Ms Gordon said.

"We were pleased that the inspector also noted many of our positive aspects.

"We look forward to our re-inspection within the next 12 months and remain committed to our ongoing development."

The report said children are generally happy and behave well, but "the organisation of daily routines in the toddler room are not well planned for".

Inspectors said "children are expected to wait far too long at lunchtime, which leads to them becoming upset and frustrated".

Ofsted said the nursery must implement the curriculum more effectively and focus on more robust staff supervision in order to improve its rating when it is next inspected.
