Go-ahead for pub and takeaway in listed building
Proposals to reopen a pub have been approved as planners also gave the go-ahead for a takeaway in the Grade II-listed building.
The Boat inn, in Wednesfield, has been vacant since mid-2020, City of Wolverhampton Council said.
It said the extra hot-food takeaway would help bring the pub back into use and secure its long-term viability.
No external changes to the building were proposed, so it said there would not be "any harm to this heritage asset".
The primary use of the building would still be a pub, with the majority of sales expected to come from this, the council said.
