A man has denied causing the death of another man by careless driving at a Hampshire car wash.

Lukasz Wojenkowski, 35, from Southampton, was hit by a Range Rover at Car Wash Bay in Bishopstoke on 21 January 2024.

Patryk Galka, 24, of Commercial Road, Southampton, appeared at the city's crown court on Wednesday to deny a charge of causing death by careless driving.

Mr Galka is set to stand trial at the same court on 22 September.

Mr Wojenkowski died in hospital two days after being knocked down.

Following his death, Mr Wojenkowski's family described him as a "special person", who was "always smiling, joyful and full of life".

"What happened shocked all his family and friends," they said.
