Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing outside a supermarket in Nottinghamshire.
Police said a man in his 30s was taken to hospital after being stabbed "multiple times" outside the Co-op in Westdale Lane East, Gedling, at about 22:30 BST on Tuesday.
Simon McHugh, 45, was arrested the following day and was charged with attempted murder, as well as possession of a bladed article in a public place, burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
Nottinghamshire Police said he was also charged with two counts of false imprisonment, assault, possession of a knife and two counts of making threats to kill in relation to incidents in Derbyshire on 5 May.
The force said the stabbing victim was left with serious injuries and was still in hospital.
Mr McHugh, of Harrogate Road, Carlton, remains in custody and is due to appear before Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday, the force added.
