Up to 90 new homes could be built near town

Up to ninety new homes could be built on greenfield land off a main road near a town.
David Wilson Homes wants to build on the site on the A51 London Road opposite the entrance to the existing Stapeley Gardens housing estate in Nantwich, Cheshire.
The 6.3 hectare field the developer wants to build on is described as being "predominantly used for general agricultural purposes."
It has its western boundary on London Road and its southern boundary on Wybunbury Lane and the developer said it does not believe the nature and scale of the scheme would have significant effects on the environment.
A letter to the council on behalf of the developer states the proposed development would "deliver a range of market and affordable housing types."
The developer has requested Cheshire East Council provides a formal screening opinion to confirm if there is a need for an environmental impact assessment (EIA) in relation to the proposed scheme.
An EIA help councils decide whether to grant planning permission, and developers can check if they need one before they submit a planning application.
