Pedestrian hurt and dog killed when struck by car

Pixie was a beloved dog who sadly died as a result of the injuries caused by the collision, police said.

A pedestrian was injured and her dog killed when they were hit by a car which left the scene without stopping.

Police were called to Underwood Lane, at the junction with Windsor Avenue in Crewe, Cheshire, at about 17:27 GMT on 17 December following reports of a white SUV-type vehicle failing to stop after a crash.

A female pedestrian was hit and suffered minor injuries but her dog Pixie died at the scene.

Cheshire police described it as a sad incident and said it would welcome any footage, information or witnesses.
