Woman badly hurt in crash with unmarked police car
A 19-year-old woman has potentially life-changing injuries after being hit by an unmarked police car while on foot.
The car was responding to an emergency and driving through Emersons Green, South Gloucestershire, when it collided with the pedestrian on a roundabout at about 18:30 GMT on Sunday.
Avon and Somerset Police says the woman was given first aid by police officers and paramedics before being taken to hospital.
The force has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct following the incident, which is mandatory.
The police car was using blue lights and a siren at the time of the incident.
The officers in the vehicle were not injured in the collision and will be offered welfare support by Avon and Somerset Police.
