A lightning strike is believed to have caused a house fire in Staffordshire.

A number of fire crews were called to Springhill Road, Burntwood just after 06:00 BST, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

On arrival at the house, firefighters found all occupants were out of the house and nobody had been injured, a spokesperson said.

A bedroom in the loft of the semi-detached home was damaged in the fire, the service added.
