A man has been charged with attempted rape, making threats to kill and causing grievous bodily harm after a woman was found with serious facial injuries.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the woman was the victim of a "sustained attack" in Goodwick, Pembrokeshire, on Friday evening.

Benjamin Guiver, from Fishguard, has been charged with seven offences.

The 34-year-old has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on Monday.

Police will maintain a police presence in the area over the next few days to reassure the community, the force said.

It has appealed for witnesses to contact them with any information.
