Train services in Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk have been disrupted due to overhead wire problems in the Chelmsford area.

Greater Anglia said there were major delays between Norwich and London in either direction, while the line from Chelmsford to Witham has been blocked.

Trains are being re-routed along an adjacent line, but as a result services are being delayed or cancelled.

Affected routes include services between London Liverpool Street and Norwich, Braintree, Colchester, Clacton-on-Sea and Ipswich.

Services have been re-routed along an adjacent line but as a result there are cancellations and delays, according to the train operator

Greater Anglia said: "This process means that trains will be delayed while they take turns sharing the line, and your train may be waiting in a queue waiting to travel through the affected area.

"Other trains may be cancelled to avoid going through the area."

More information on the affected services can be found here.
