Cardiff council said there was a problem with a flat roof at Albany Road Primary School

A school has been forced to partially close due to a leaking roof after heavy rain.

Some classrooms at Albany Road Primary School in the Roath, Cardiff, will be closed until next Monday.

Cardiff council said some four classes would be relocated to an alternative location until Friday.

The school will remain open for the majority for classes from Tuesday and will reopen fully on Monday 18 November.

In a statement, the council said: "Following heavy rainfall, inspections have been carried out by the council which have found that the roof, which is planned to be upgraded due to its condition, has suffered several leaks which require urgent repairs."
