Thousands of vapes and tobacco products seized

Thousands of suspected illegal vapes and tobacco products have been seized from four locations in a Norfolk town.

Breckland Police worked with Trading Standards officers and licensing teams in a joint operation in Thetford on Wednesday.

Jack, a Trading Standards dog, assisted officers in the raids to uncover the goods.

It follows a rise in illegal vapes reported both locally and nationally, and ongoing concern about the impact on young people.

Police said illegally produced vapes and e-cigarettes could contain contaminants, high levels of nicotine and banned substances which are potentially dangerous to users.

Consumers can protect themselves by ensuring the nicotine strength of their vape is no higher than the legal limit of 20mg/ml or 2%.

The suspected sale of unsafe products should be reported to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice.
