Hundreds are set to gather for the annual Santa Dash

The annual Santa Dash is set to see hundred of festively dressed runners take to the streets of the capital later, with several roads closed to accommodate them.

The event sees participants gather on Prospect Hill at 12:30 GMT before completing the one mile (1.6km) route for charity.

Prospect Hill and Victoria Street will be closed from 12:30 to 12:45, while Finch Road, from Crellin's Hill to Christian Road, will be shut from 12:30 until 13:00.

The race will also see Christian Road to Prospect Hill closed from 12:15 to 13:15, with parking temporarily suspended along those roads during the period.

Hundreds dressed as Santas run down prospect hill, with the white Tynwald building in the background.
The event starts on Prospect Hill outside of the Isle of Man Bank

Marking its 23rd year in 2024, the fun run organised by the Isle of Man Bank sees prizes awarded to race winners as well as to the best dressed Santas and teams.

Last year's event broke the attendance record with 401 participants taking part.

Participants in the run either pick their own charities to raise money for, or choose from a list of charities provided by the organiser.

This year chosen causes include the Children's Centre, Isle of Man Foodbank, Isle of Man Samaritans, Isle Listen and Crossroads Isle of Man, with prize winners able to donate funds to them.
