People living in Northamptonshire captured striking images of a dramatic sunset over the county on Sunday evening.

Smoke from wildfires in north America resulted in spectacular vivid colours to sunsets and sunrises across the UK.

The unusual hues should continue until later on Monday, when more unsettled weather will begin to disperse the smoke in the upper atmosphere.

Because the smoke is high up, there is no risk to people's health and the haze is expected to have moved on by Tuesday morning.
