Months of roadworks to start on the A180
Work to replace 200 concrete sections of the A180 will start later, with motorists facing a series of overnight and daytime closures.
National Highways said specialist repairs and maintenance work would take place between the A15 Barnetby Top junction and the A160 Stallingborough interchange.
A series of overnight closures, between 20:00 and 06:00, are scheduled on the westbound side until 28 November, and on the eastbound side from 29 November until 19 December.
One lane of the road will also be closed during the day.
Diversion routes of up to 14 miles will be in place for the duration of the work.
Last month, Melanie Onn, the MP for Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes, described the road as "inexplicably loud" and claimed motorists faced "juddering journeys".
In response, Gillian Greenwood, the transport minister, said the work would "substantially" reduce noise levels.
The work on the eastbound and westbound carriageways is the latest project to take place on the A180.
Earlier this year, North East Lincolnshire Council carried out major repairs on the Gilbey Road bridge, Cleethorpes flyover and Alexandra Dock Bridge, designed to protect them for the future,
