Dog walker rescued from waist-high mud

A woman has been rescued after she became stuck in a bog up to her waist while walking her dog.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the moorland in Holme Moss, near Holmfirth, at about 09:04 GMT on Thursday.

A fire engine and specialist officers managed to locate and rescue the woman.

She was then taken for a check-up by the ambulance service, West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service have said.
