Man stabbed two people while hunting for wife

A man who stabbed two people in an act of "extreme" violence while searching for his estranged wife has been found guilty of attempted murder.
Hertfordshire Police said Bryan Field, 64, entered an office building on Shangri-La Farm in Todds Green, near Stevenage, and launched an attack on two people inside with a large kitchen knife.
Police managed to arrest him shortly afterwards after stopping him in a car near Luton.
Field, of Albion Road in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, was also convicted of wounding with intent and being in possession of a knife in a public place. He will be sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on 16 May.
Police said on 11 February 2024, a car belonging to Field's wife was parked near the office, which was a business where she worked.
Assuming she was inside, he entered it armed with a knife concealed in a black plastic bag.
Officers said she was not inside, but two people who were in the building were subsequently attacked.
They said he stabbed a man in his thigh, narrowly missing his femoral artery, and attempted to stab him in the neck.
A woman was stabbed in the arm with such force the knife's blade broke off, police said.
Det Sgt Ian Smith, from the North Herts Local Crime Unit, said: "Field has been proven to be a dangerous individual and it is right that he will now face justice for his appalling actions.
"Two innocent members of the public were attacked during this incident, which saw Field display extreme acts of violence."
