Callum Denley admitted five offences relating to indecent images

A former police officer has admitted multiple offences relating to indecent images of children.

Callum Denley, 20, a former officer with Wiltshire Police pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier.

He further admitted an offence of possession of an extreme pornographic image and one possession of a prohibited image of a child.

He is due to be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on 2 May.

The offences covered category A images, the most serious abuse material, Wiltshire Police said.

"Making" indecent images can have a wide legal definition. It can include taking pictures or filming, but also covers opening an email attachment or downloading images from a website to a device. It further includes receiving images via social media or live-streaming images of children.

Denley was suspended as soon as the force became aware of the charges against him, and he has since resigned his position.
