A rescue helicopter and RNLI crews have been at the scene of a boat fire off the coast of Cornwall.

HM Coastguard received reports of the fire at about 14:00 BST near Porthbeor beach, off St Anthony Head.

A spokesperson for the coastguard said the person onboard abandoned the boat into the water and was airlifted to safety.

The vessel, which was about 20ft (6.1m), was recovered and taken back to Falmouth.

The coastguard said the man had set off his personal locator beacon which enabled the rescue crews to locate him easily.
