Delays likely on A64 as roadworks begin
Delays are likely on the A64 at the weekend when National Highways begin work to upgrade the road's drainage.
Maintenance work at Crambeck in North Yorkshire will start on Friday and increase the drains' capacity, preventing standing water gathering on the route.
National Highways said the work on the stretch between York and Scarborough was due to finish on 18 November but could be affected by poor weather.
There will be temporary traffic lights on the A64 junctions at Castle Howard Station Road and Greets House Road crossroads, near the Jamie's Cragg caravan park.
The government agency advised drivers to allow extra time for their journeys and said updates on the progress of the work would be available on the National Highways social media channels.
