Motorcyclist, 82, dies after crash with SUV

An 82-year-old motorcyclist has died after a crash with an SUV in North Yorkshire, police have said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash on the B1248 near Malton at about 11:40 BST on Tuesday.

According to police, the blue Honda motorcycle he was riding collided with a blue VW Tiguan SUV just south of Wharram le Street, near the junction with Station Road.

Police said the driver of the Tiguan, a man in his 60s, was "assisting officers with the investigation". He received hospital treatment for his injures, they added.

North Yorkshire Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.
