Family of fatal stabbing victim 'devastated'

The family of a man who was fatally stabbed has said "his memory will live through us all".

Jack O'Brien, 27, died in hospital shortly after emergency services found him at Siddow Common in Leigh at 18:50 GMT on Tuesday.

Two men, aged 55 and 53, have been arrested on suspicion of his murder, while two men, aged 53 and 45, have been held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Mr O'Brien's family said they were "absolutely devastated" at his death and vowed to "cherish every memory" of him.

They said: "We have been left with a massive hole in our hearts which will never heal.

"As a family we will cherish every memory good and the bad.

"His memory will live through us all, forever our Jack and forever 27."

Detectives are appealing for anyone who has any information, CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage to contact the force.

Greater Manchester Police said no piece of information is too small and could provide the answers it needs for Mr O'Brien's family.
