Venue apologises to customers who 'won' £100 tab
An entertainment venue in Lincoln has apologised after it accidentally emailed its entire customer database to say they had each won a £100 bar tab.
STACK, which houses street food, bars and entertainment in the former Argos store in St Mark's Shopping Centre, said it sent the message as a "mistake" following a genuine competition.
The error occurred when the company tried to resend prize details to a winner who did not receive the original notification.
A spokesperson for the leisure hub, which has several venues in the UK, said they "sincerely apologise" for the error.
'Deep regret'
A spokesperson for STACK said: "We want to sincerely apologise for this error and any confusion or disappointment it may have caused."
They added: "We understand that some customers may feel let down by this mistake, and we deeply regret any inconvenience caused.
"There were around 290 actual winners of the £100 bar tab across all of our STACK sites and they will all be honoured."
The company also told the BBC it would be "reviewing its processes to ensure such an error does not happen again".
