New management to revive well-known venues

A well-known Shrewsbury restaurant and bar will reopen again in the summer, its owner has announced.
The Peach Tree and Havana Republic closed in 2022 after business failed to pick up after the coronavirus pandemic, then a short-lived revival ended in a second closure in September last year.
The owner of the properties, Martin Monahan, said local cafe owner Lee Ozturk had agreed to take over the running of the two venues.
In a statement on Facebook, Mr Monahan said Mr Ozturk aimed to "restore them to the reputation and energy they once enjoyed pre-Covid".
Mr Ozturk, who owns the town's Peaberry Cafe, said the two venues "hold a special place in Shrewsbury's heart," and he said he was "honoured" to have the chance to bring them back.
He said he was "committed to creating something that feels both familiar and exciting — a return to form with a fresh twist".
The Peach Tree said details of opening dates, events and menus would be announced at a later date.
