Limitless Win: £250k prize money is life-changing
A visually-impaired man who won £250,000 with his father on a TV gameshow said it would make a big difference to his quality of life.
Mark Steadman and his father David from Birmingham won the money on Ant and Dec's Limitless Win on ITV1.
The 40-year-old runs a small business, and said he had been doing what he could to "stay afloat" after a "tricky" few years.
His share of the winnings would go towards paying off his mortgage and debts, he told BBC WM.
"To have the opportunity to just unclench and roll the shoulders back, that's what it does," the podcast editor said.
The money gave him security, and in that sense, it was "life-changing," he added.
"I'm a freelancer, and the last few years, especially in my industry, have been tricky."
The prize meant he could stop "feeling like a swan with the legs going furiously underwater for a bit".
'Cheeky little holiday'
Mr Steadman said he and his father decided to apply for the gameshow "for an adventure".
There was some anxiety around being on it due to the bright lights, the TV cameras, the audience and the famous hosts, he said.
"But we knew we had each other by our side, and had each other's backs."
Some of the money was going to be used for a "cheeky little holiday" he added, as "you've got to have a little treat!"
