Police have made an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after a man died in a road collision.

Officers were called to the A131Braintree Road in Halstead, Essex, shortly before 11:00 GMT on Saturday following reports of a single vehicle crash.

A man in his 70s died at the scene, the force said.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time, and has not yet spoken to officers, is asked to check their dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that would help them," police said.

The A131 was closed in both directions for a time between Halstead and the A120 while emergency services dealt with the incident.
