A 69-year-old woman has died after being admitted to hospital with severe injuries.

A 33-year-old man, who was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has now been further arrested on suspicion of murder, said North Wales Police.

It comes after police were called to a residential property on Cefndy Road, Rhyl, Denbighshire, on Thursday night.

A 25-year-old woman, who has arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on conditional bail.

"Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this sad time who are being supported by specialist police teams," the force said in a statement on Saturday.
