A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 69-year-old woman.
Dean Mark Albert Mears, of Bodelwyddan Avenue in Kinmel Bay, Conwy county, is also charged with aggravated burglary.
North Wales Police said the 33-year-old was arrested after Catherine Flynn was taken to hospital from a property on Cefndy Road in Rhyl, Denbighshire, on Thursday night.
Ms Flynn later died.
Mr Mears appeared briefly at Llandudno Magistrates' Court and stood in the dock between two security officers wearing a mustard yellow anorak and a grey T-shirt.

District Judge Gwyn Jones told Mr Mears the magistrates court had no powers to deal with a charge of murder.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday.
