Pavements in a Skegness street are to be replaced, Lincolnshire County Council said.

The authority said the paths in Park Avenue had reached the end of their life.

The work is costing £315,000, but the authority said the maintenance of the new paths will be more cost-effective in the future.

Officials said work was expected to begin on Tuesday, with completion due by early March 2025.

Work would be carried out between the junctions with Scarborough Avenue and Castleton Boulevard, from 07:30 and 17:30 GMT Monday to Friday, according to the council.

Karen Cassar, from the highways department at the council, said: “This is a considerable amount of footpath work in Skegness and that means a complete rebuild of pathways to improve the local area.

“The current sections of footpaths have reached the end of their life and are in a poor condition.

"By getting rid of the old surface now and putting in a modern one, the paths will be much improved, and we will be able to carry out more cost-effective maintenance for many more years to come."
